The restoration of this car is as near perfect as I could possibly make it. Car is back to factory specs with some subtle changes to improve on factory imperfections. Every part is cleaner, shinier, straighter than showroom. The C body Mopar is the forgotten Mopar. The drive trains were removed and put in smaller Mopars for their horsepower potential.
My car, the 67 Sport Fury 383 Commando was advertised to the consumer wanting luxury options and Big Block power. All the info I have found suggests the 67 model was the first year of significant options including Auto Pilot, 6-way power buckets, 4 piston disc brakes, very rear disc brake hubcaps, power windows, AC and rear window defogger. I have the build sheet, protect o plate, showroom brochure, owners manual and dealer repair manual.
I got the car with all major parts intact and completely rust free. It took me over 2 years to locate all the correct trim and small pieces for the car. I have done 10 full & partial restorations in my life and nothing compares to the time and money spent to restore this ahead of it's time Fury!
There were 32,000 383 Sport Furys produced in 1967. About 1/3 had the 383, very few had all the options. I am certain I have the finest one in the world!
